My iCandy Style
 Heritage and the iCandy Peach

iCandy is a fourth generation family business established in 1933 London. A brand proud of their great British heritage – they owe much to the fashion credentials and direction laid down by Charles Appel, the founder of the business in 1930s London. This foundation allows iCandy to explore the latest in fashion fabrics and trends, blending these cosmetics with world-renowned engineering.

The iconic Peach has undergone its most significant overall since its inception with over 60 modifications. Only three components remain the same, leaving a virtually all-new design that takes both style and functionality to new heights. An iCandy pushchair helps parents give their child the very best start in life. The Peach is a celebration of the beauty of life, and the journey of love and joy that a baby brings. The Peach campaign focuses on the four areas which have become key to the product since its launch in 2009- Heritage, Innovation, Style and Quality. Over the coming weeks, iCandy will be sharing these four ideals through the parenting journey of real life iCandy parents. First up is Heritage.

Heritage is a fundamental part of life at iCandy, as a family owned business the DNA of family ownership is clearly evident, the heritage of family firmly engrained within the walls of iCandy HQ. From its earliest fashion beginnings in London, to over 85 years of evolution, iCandy is now the definitive luxury pushchair brand. Joint CEO’s and brothers Bradley and Warren Appel play an active role in the development of iCandy pushchairs- working closely with iCandy’s in house design team at their UK Headquarters. Heritage is an important part of life at iCandy, it is an important consideration in the design of the Peach pushchair, a symbol of the brand ethos.

The iCandy Peach is truly a “heritage product” says iCandy Managing Director Martin Boyle. When it arrived in 2009 nothing looked or felt like an iCandy Peach. With its head turning chrome frame and bold colourways, the Peach has gone on to cement its legacy as the definitive luxury pushchair. Its arrival sparked a turning point in the history of iCandy, and forever revolutionised the way luxury pushchairs would be created.

Alex Gregory MBE, 2x Olympic Gold Medallist Rower for Team GB is an example of an individual who has recently become an iCandy parent. As an athlete participating in a typically British sport, and one which is steeped in history, Alex is the perfect subject for this first look into the values of the iCandy Peach. Alex uses a Peach pushchair with an indigo colourway on a satin frame. With its new understated frame finish and regal blue fabrics, it’s a visual representation of heritage. The satin frame is fitting for a Great British Olympic athlete, someone who has trained intensely for many years.

Alex Gregory lives with his family in the countryside. Being an Olympic rower, he is a regular at the acclaimed Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames. Furthermore, Alex frequently uses his iCandy Peach pushchair for countryside walks with his family and needs a stroller which can deal with both the rigours of his outdoors lifestyle, and busy urban environments. Alex is a committed family man who is currently writing a book about his adventures with the family, aptly named the “DadVentures”. The Peach is the perfect complement to the lifestyle of Alex and his young family thanks to its effortless manoeuvrability, unrivalled suspension, and elegant class.
