Cologne, Germany: 22nd September-

For the first time, iCandy is exhibiting an eclectic and innovative art collection at the largest trade nursery show, Kind und Jugend Cologne, Germany, titled, The White Peach Art Project. The White Peach Project art collection has been conceived by four gifted artists donating their time and talent to design and create one-off Peach pushchairs, dedicated to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s charity.

iCandy’s direct involvement with Great Ormond Street Hospital is now in its 3rd year and has seen over £100,000 raised, the opening of an isolation bay on the ‘Bear Ward’ cardiac unit funded by iCandy and most recently, a specially adapted iCandy pushchair to enable the children of the hospital to move freely out of the wards. The modified pushchair, secures medical tubing and an oxygen tank allowing children to not only enjoy the great outdoors in safety and comfort but also gives them opportunity to have fun and play away from the hospital-setting. As a family-owned business, now in its fourth generation, the team at iCandy personally understand not only the importance of play in a child's development but the joy play brings to the whole family. It was this that spurred the inspiration for iCandy’s next project.

Having long been fascinated by the art surrounding modern parenting and the joy of play, iCandy decided to launch a unique 4-piece collection of white Peach pushchairs with the purpose to be designed, drawn and painted upon to raise awareness for the GOSH charity.

iCandy wanted to find synergy between the creative industry and the charity sector, helping to develop an environment where creativity and talent are used for the bigger picture. As their first artist collaboration project, iCandy hope to further strengthen their connection with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, who work tirelessly to fund for better research and care services for sick children and their families. This is a cause very close to our hearts and we believed it to be an important place to begin.

The artists that have contributed to the project were carefully selected due to their unique style and approaches to art, as iCandy felt that this mix of media would represent the various interpretations of modern parenting in today's society in the most effective, visual way. From the urban graffiti artist ZombieDan, born and raised in London, to the bold and fearless fashion designer Sophie Hospes from Amsterdam, the collection is set to be more than a discussion piece on parenting today but will be the embodiment of today's modern art scene, on the most unlikely canvas.
